Esmolol HCl CAS 861161-17-3, is an ultra-short-acting, cardioselective beta-adrenergic antagonist (beta-blocker) used primarily for the rapid control of heart rate and blood pressure in acute settings. It is the only beta-blocker with a very short half-life (approximately 9 minutes), allowing for rapid titration and quick reversal of effects upon discontinuation.
