Indications: Suzetrigine is a highly selective inhibitor of the NaV1.8 voltage-gated sodium channel. NaV1.8 channels are primarily expressed on peripheral pain-sensing neurons (such as dorsal root ganglia) and are responsible for transmitting pain signals, while they are not expressed in the central nervous system or cardiac tissue. By specifically blocking this channel, Suzetrigine can inhibit peripheral pain signal transmission, thereby producing analgesia. Because its target is not in the central nervous system, it theoretically does not produce euphoria, carries no risk of addiction, and does not cause respiratory depression
